Mrs. Day is a Math teacher at Rio Norte Junior High. She teaches both accelerated math and regular math for 7th grade. She’s taught for over 10 years. “Junior High students are so fun to work with!” she says. She loves interacting with Junior High students and helping her students learn.
She started teaching in 2004, soon after graduating from college. She taught at Golden Valley High School for 4 years. “I loved teaching different types of math but [I] missed the junior high student[s],” She mentions. This is her second year at Rio Norte, and she says, “I love the students here and seeing my own kid walk the halls.”
If she could give advice to her Junior High self, she would say, “Always work hard and do things right when they are assigned,” and “Don’t worry about what other people think of you.” She says she loves teaching and is very optimistic.
Outside of teaching, she likes watching the Denver Broncos play football. She also likes traveling to different places and staying in hotels. Her new favorite show is called Extracted.
“I think I would have studied viticulture and enology,” she says when prompted what she would do if she weren’t in education. She prefers dogs over cats and is an early bird.
Mrs. Day loves teaching math to junior high school students with enthusiasm. She loves being able to mold her students to be better people and better at math. She is an amazing teacher and is positive about everything.
