Welcome to The Good Things in Life, where we talk about small things that hopefully bring a smile to your face. I’m Cora, and today we’ll be discussing what I’m grateful for. In this article, we’ll explore my dog, friends, volleyball, and why they’re so important to me.
The first thing I am grateful for is my dog. His name is Nugget, and he is super cute. Whenever I get home, he always runs to me and licks me, as if I’m the best thing in the world. Seeing him is always the best part of my day. He is also a lot of fun to play with. Even when I’m stressed out, I love to wrestle him for toys, and it makes everything else go away. I can also call him cute names, like “Nuggie Pop.” He is the best Christmas present I’ve ever gotten, and I know he will always love me no matter what. I am so lucky to have him in my life.
Speaking of things that help me relieve stress, my friends are also really important. I met them when I switched elementary schools in fourth grade. I’ve only known them for three years, but I feel like I’ve known them forever. Whenever I’m with them, nothing seems that bad. They are the funniest people I’ve ever met, and I wouldn’t want to have any other friend group. I love them because they are a place where I can be myself without being judged. One time, I got into a fight with my dad, so I got on a call with them, and after a couple of hours of playing Roblox, I had completely forgotten about it because I was having so much fun. It was so comforting to know that no matter what, I have a place to come back to and people who understand me. I’m so fortunate to have met them, and I hope we can remain friends for many more years.
The last thing that makes me happy is volleyball. I started playing volleyball 4 years ago, and I always loved it because it gives me a place to work hard while also having fun. My favorite volleyball memory is when my team won a championship after a whole season of work. It was so satisfying because we worked so hard for it. Volleyball also lets me meet the most amazing people. Without volleyball, I wouldn’t have gotten to know the best team ever. I always look forward to seeing them at practice and tournaments. If I’m having a bad day, they are always there to remind me that I am really good and encourage me. Overall, there are so many aspects of volleyball that make me love it.
I’m grateful for those things because sometimes life gets really stressful, but they give me a little break. They make everything a little easier. That’s all for today!
