At Rio Norte Junior High School, staff such as teachers, ASB, and the principal, Mrs. Bennett, are aiming to make Rio fun for the last few days of school till winter break! So let’s buckle up and see what is in store for the students!
Christmas is considered a Christian holiday, but different cultures and religions celebrate a different holiday, don’t celebrate it at all, or celebrate it differently. Edna Ferber once stated, “Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling.” Here at Rio, staff try to keep the Christmas vibe, while also creating a good atmosphere with positive feelings for students. For example, the upcoming “Ebenezer Scrooge’s BIG Santa Clarita CHRISTMAS SHOW!” hosted on December 11-12 at 7-8 PM!
To understand more about Christmas in Rio and how it looks, here are some words from Rio’s drama teacher, Mr. O, or otherwise known as… SANTA. The first question Rio’s Santa Claus asked was if he was excited for Christmas this year. His response was “Of course!” His next question to respond to was if there was anything different about this year from previous years that he knew of, and he said that the show was now officially an annual thing, making production easier, and that the show is a very fun take on a Christmas carol. Finally, he revealed that the rumor is, on the 18th, there will be a sneaky elf on campus, just rumors though, as he clarified.
There are more upcoming events, such as Christmas fashion week, where Monday is holiday sweater day, and so on, so participate and join in on the holiday fun!. Though keep in mind Riverhawks, though ASB and others may have their surprises for this Christmas season, watch out for what the teachers have planned!
