On Saturday, when most of us are sleeping in or playing video games, Harrison Carbaugh is getting ready for a competition. Because he swims competitively, he has to wake up around 4 to 6 am to compete. While he might be the smart, tall kid in school, in the pool, he is a monster.
Harrison has attended Rio Norte Jr. High for two years and is getting ready to graduate in June. He describes himself as “ tall, strong, and smart.” His favorite food is steak, and if he had to give a 10-minute speech right now with no prep, he says he could talk about swimming for a while.
While some might think competitive swimming is easy, Harrison puts in long hours, rising early for competitions and practicing late into the night. Despite the challenges, Harrison is determined and works hard toward his goals. “My parents are my inspiration,” he says. “They cheer me on and encourage me to succeed in life.”
However, his life is not always good. Last fall, he failed his history test.” I was busy and forgot to study,” he says. He realised his mistake and studied hard for the retake. When he got the test back, he got a 87%.
Harrison also has a big personality. His “hot take”? He thinks,” There is no way pineapple should belong on pizza in this universe. Just no way.” And if you give him $1,000 today, he would not hesitate to buy a brand new E-bike.
For the future, Harrison wants to make the cross country team for the 100-meter and lead our school to victory. Whether he is on the track or in the pool, Harrison Carbaugh really knows how to live life to its fullest.
