Disneyland attracts over over 900 million visitors over the 70 years it’s been opened. Mr. Disney created his first park (Disneyland) in Anaheim, California, on July 17, 1995. Mr. Disney created this park to entertain and educate adults and their children. He was able to raise the money to open this park by having funding from ABC News in exchange for creating the Disneyland TV show for them.
Mr. Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 5, 1901. Mr. Disney (whose real name is Walter Elias Disney) first worked as a commercial artist before pursuing a job as an advertising cartoonist. In 1928, Walt Disney created a short film called Steamboat Willie. This film became a national sensation because “It was the first animated film to use sound,” according to History.com.
Mr. Disney first came up with the idea of creating a theme park when watching his daughter play at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. At that park, Walt Disney realized there were no safe or clean parks for children and adults to have fun together. This is what began the idea of the “happiest place,” as stated by Disney and many others. Even after the park was completed, Disney stated that he would continue to try to improve the park, which he states here, “The park means a lot to me in that it’s something that will never be finished. Something that I can keep developing, keep plussing and adding to—it’s alive.”
Some popular rides I found on Wandering In Disney that many people enjoy are Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Radiator Springs Racers, and Space Mountain. My personal favorite rides are the Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Indiana Jones Adventure. I think most of these rides I named are quite fantastic choices for having a fun time at Disneyland, but of course, this is just my opinion, because there are many other fantastic ones.
If you are interested in going, some popular places that many people recommend are the Blue Bayou Restaurant, Lamplight Lounge, and Goofy’s Kitchen. These restaurants were all highly recommended places to go, with ratings of 4.1 to 4.4. Disneyland has been improved many times each year and hopefully will continue to many years just like Mr. Disney hoped it would.
