The VMAs, also known as the “Video Music Awards,” were held at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on September 11, 2024. Many favored artists attended the VMAs this year. Here is a recap of everything that went down at the 2024 VMAs, including the performances and different winners throughout the night!
Opening up the awards was Eminem performing hit songs “Houdini” and “Somebody Save Me” ,Sabrina Carpenter with her popular song “Taste” “Espresso” and, “Please Please Please”. Along with other artists that performed such as Annita, Camila Cabello, GloRilla, Halsey, Jessie Murph, Karol G, Le Sserifam, Benson Boone and Chappel Roan. Showing , the 2024 VMA’s were packed with great music artists and creators.
Moving onto the awards and the song that won the most of all, “Fortnight” by Taylor Swift (who also won Artist of the Year and Best Pop) featuring Post Malone winning five different awards including, Music Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Editing, and Song of the Summer. Next, song of the year went out to Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter! Best Afrobeats went to “Water” by Tyla. PUSH Performance of the Year, which recognizes artists who have been selected for MTV’s PUSH campaign, went out to LE SSERAFIM with their song “EASY.” Eminem won Best Hip Hop with “Houdini.” Best New Artist went to Chappell Roan. In addition, “Snooze” by SZA won in the category of Best R&B. Lastly, The VMA for the Most Iconic Performance went to Katy Perry and her song“Roar”.
Ultimately, the 2024 VMAs was a huge success with many artists performing and winning awards. People enjoy voting, and watching the VMAs every year full of entertainment and great music.
