Music has a big impact regarding all ages, and an even larger impact on naive teens during adolescence. Technology is always evolving and the way music is listened to is far different from the old tape player, phonograph or music box. This means that there are more ways inappropriate music is exposed to kids of younger ages. Through social media, youtube, etc, kids hear things that they shouldn’t at their age because of the lack of knowing what you’re listening to. On Tik Tok and Instagram you swipe up to different posts not knowing the music that could be playing in the background or the words being said by the video creator. Studies display that “… anxiety and neuroticism levels were higher in teens who listened to moody music as a way to vent their emotions.” So now let’s take a look at some of Rio Norte’s students’ favorite music artists.
