This fire is not your average wildfire, this is the biggest single wildfire in California with blazing flames just waiting to be spread. Two firenados (fire tornados) were made in the process. Firenados are created when a rising heat of a fire pulls in smoke, fire, and dirt, creating a vortex above the blaze. Some of these firenados had winds up to about a hundred miles per hour. “To have even one tornado within a fire is rare,” CNN meteorologist Taylor Ward said. “Fires can lead to fire whirls — kind of like a dust devil — due to differential heating, but to get a tornado with winds of over 100 mph is quite unusual.” This has been a blazing hot season so far so let’s help prevent more fires. Stay home and stay safe!
