Do you miss shopping in person? Although many places are closed due to coronavirus, the Valencia mall has  finally reopened.

The mall took a lot to reopen. According to SCV Signal, “The largest indoor mall operator in the region, with locations including the Westfield Valencia Town Center, has filed a lawsuit against Los Angeles County over COVID-19 health guidelines that have kept the shopping centers closed.” The mall filed a lawsuit to LA because they were not allowed to open the malls. After suing the Westfield mall was allowed to open if they followed the corona virus guidelines. The mall was very felicitous to open because many small businesses were about to close and the mall had lost a lot of money from having no customers.

Since the mall has reopened they have to follow many safety measures. Westfield.com tells us that “Westfield Valencia is proud to carry the SafeGuard™… the world’s most trusted name in health and safety testing, inspection, and certification. The SafeGuard™ certification verifies that a facility has met stringent requirements to minimize the onsite risk of virus spread” The mall is making sure to have the best cleaning and hygiene for everyone visiting and the workers to stay safe. The mall also enforces everyone staying 6 feet apart and wearing masks.

The mall has reopened but the food courts will stay closed for in person dining. Hometown station said “Although the indoor area of the mall will be open, food courts and common areas will remain closed in cooperation with County of Los Angeles Public Health guidelines”. Recently they announced that the food court is open for pick up. Although the food courts and common areas are still closed for in person dining you can still enjoy shopping and take out.

Westfield Valencia posted “Stay healthy and happy.” The mall reopening is going to help many families whose parents work there.
