Halloween Costume Ideas

Halloween is coming around the corner, which means Halloween parties and dances. Alongside these events, Halloween is also known for dressing up in costumes. Some people pick costumes too late, or never have ideas for costumes at all. Despite this, there are a lot of costumes to choose from every category: cute, scary, funny, etc.

Solo

For the people who don’t have a group or don’t want to dress up with others, there’s a bunch of costumes for someone to do on their own. The top 5 Halloween costumes for girls going solo are witches, cheerleaders, Harley Quinn, Emily from Corpse Bride, and The Little Mermaid. For boys, the top 5 outfits are an Oppenheimer themed costume, Ghostface, Allan from Barbie, Elvis Presley, and Top Gun: Maverick. Recently, Target has released their popular costumes of food, condiments, and animals, which can be used for going solo, as a duo, or as a group costume.

Duos

For the people planning on going as a duo, a basic costume idea is Barbie and Ken, which resurfaced because of the Barbie movie that came out in July. There’s also Shrek and Donkey/Fiona for the Shrek lovers, Aladdin and Jasmine, a hunter and a deer, Men in Black, a white and black swan, Mario and Princess Peach, or even Mario and Luigi. These costumes work for both friends and relationships. Also, they can be simple to create, or find.

Groups (3+ people)

There are a few popular costumes for trios. Some costumes for girls are Regina, Gretchen, and Karen from Mean Girls, and Cher, Dionne and Tai from Clueless. Gender Neutral costumes include Spongebob, Squidward, and Patrick, or the Hot Dog + Condiment trio. Costumes that can work for multiple people are minions, fairies, Care Bears, and Ghostbusters. For more unique costumes, groups go as Willy Wonka and Oompa Loompas, the characters from The Wizard of Oz, Crayons, and the Incredibles.

Rio Student’s Costumes

Some of the students interviewed hadn’t chosen their costume yet. The top solo costume from students who already chose their costume is Ghostface. Most of the students here are going trick or treating as groups. Only a handful of students are going by themselves.
