When people think of decorative items, they think of things that are framed or encased in something because they are really valuable, like Tony Hawk’s skateboard, which recently sold for over a million dollars. There are many home decor items for cheap that still look good. However, for me, it sometimes seems like there’s nowhere to find unique items like plants or Funko products, or to discover which items would look good in different spaces. Another thing that I worry about is when to buy them. If you’re anything like me, you rarely have enough money or any money to buy items. There are LEGO, Funko, and sports jerseys that all make great decorative items, and there are many spaces to display them, as well as various ways to arrange them. Even generic items like lamps, speakers, and even shelves can make a space so much better.
If you go on any social media platform, you will most likely find someone who does really good home decor and has great ideas. Social media is also a great way to get ideas yourself. Someone who I got most of my ideas from is a person named Eric Wang. Eric Wang makes great content and makes his house very cozy and calm using many generic items like books and lamps. He even has a quote, “Lamps, I think, make a space a lot more warm, feel a lot more cozy.”
Where to buy items
Many people don’t know what items to use or don’t have inspiration for items. Sometimes, it’s challenging to find them, but one place that’s great for inspiration is Amazon. Amazon is great for inspiration; it helped me figure out what to buy, but it’s not the best place to buy from. The reason is, many people can scam you on it, or it can come late or be scratched. I suggest buying items from eBay. Ebay is a great place to get cheap and mostly good items. Usually, they will be used but not very scratched. You can find a 100$ item on Amazon, and you can probably find the same item on eBay for 65-80$ used. It’s a great deal for something of a bit lower quality. Even though eBay’s good, it might not be good for something you’re looking for. If you’re looking for something like a sports jersey, shoes, or any type of clothing, eBay is not the best. If you’re looking for those items, I suggest Tillys or Everlane for shirts and jerseys, or the Nike store for good quality shoes.
What to buy
Some items that I think are great to use and add a lot of liveliness to the space depend on what look you’re going for. If you want your area to be cozy and warm, you need items that are brown, orange, red, green, yellow, or even pink. The color of your walls can also really make your house stand out. If 
the color of your walls is orange or wooden, it would be better to go for a cozy look rather than a modern look. If your walls are white or grey, it would be better for a modern look. If you’re going for a cozy look, I suggest that you buy items that are wooden or old. Some items you could get are decorative books or normal books in green, orange, or red.
Some other items I suggest you get are Funko Pops. The Funko Pops that would be good are Spider-Man, Pokémon, or any cartoon character you like. If you’re going for a modern look, you can get Funko Pops like your favorite movie star, or any white or black Funko. If you’re not into Funko, then maybe furniture is for you. Things like shelves and lamps can help make the empty walls in your house feel fuller. If you’re going for cozy, get wooden shelves, wooden picture frames, wooden desks, and if you’re not looking for something wooden, a brown, orange, or green couch would be good for you.
Cozy
The main thing for coziness that I haven’t mentioned before is lighting. Lighting is so important in your house, just to bring coziness and calmness in certain areas of your home. If one corner of your house is looking dark or boring, adding a light will completely change the mood. One great thing for 
lighting is an Alexa. Alexa has a command to turn on all the lights in your house if you set the command. That means that when you’re comfy on your couch and don’t want to turn on the light, ask Alexa to turn it on for you. A great way to use this to its full potential is to get many lamps of all different sizes and put them in different places. For your lamps, you should get a warm light bulb instead of a white one. This makes your home ten times more cozy. Other than lamps, LEGO flowers are great. The LEGO flowers collection has many flowers, but some good ones for a cozy household are the chrysanthemum or cactus collection.
Modern
A modern household can have many things. But some of those things that make the whole house more modern are black floating shelves. The floating shelves make everything you’re trying to display better. For lamps, you don’t want too many, and you mainly want white light bulbs instead of warm ones. The decorations to use should be newer instead of old, and you want a lot of natural light inside. You don’t want much color unless it’s black, white, and even a little bit of blue. If you do enjoy old items, some good ones that will still make your house look modern are pictures, carpets, and anything marble.
Conclusion
