Super Mario World in Universal Studios Hollywood is a new attraction that was opened to the public on February 17th, 2023. With so many people visiting it every year. Super Mario World has many different attractions inside the area. Such as a cafe and a little shop with some themed games. The main attraction of Super Mario World is Bowser’s Castle.
In the line to get to the ride, the line is filled with worlds from the Mario world. With a bunch of cool areas that make the experience much better. Bowser’s Castle is a VR ride with a go-kart that goes through an entire track. Where you race with 4 other people in a kart, racing against the Bowser team. And with the VR glasses, it makes the experience so much better! Inside the go-kart, there are buttons on the steering wheel, and when you press those buttons, it’ll shoot shells.
In the track, there is a lava section, a water section, a rainbow section, and a sky section. The lava section has these big spikey squares that are called Thwomps that would stomp on the kart. To swerve out of the Thwomp’s way, there will be arrows in the VR, and to swerve out of the way, you would need to turn the steering wheel the same way the arrows are faced. The cloud area has a bunch of fans blowing in your face to simulate wind. The rainbow area is just fast, and the water area is slow.
To win the game, you need to shoot Bowser’s team; the more you shoot them, the more points you get. There are also mini bombs and other objects you need to shoot for more points. Some are worth more, some are worth fewer points. Whoever has more points in the group wins. The riders always win the race against Bowser, but the whole point is to win among your group of four in the kart. At the finish line, Mario and his friends are congratulating the people in the go-kart for winning.
