Max Emilian Verstappen was born in Hasselt Belgium on September 30, 1997. In Hasselt Belgium, he grew up with his sister but in 2008 his parents divorced and Max went to live with his dad while his sister went to live with his mom. Max’s first taste of motorsport was when he was two years old and he raced around on his four-wheeler at his family home, this sparked his passion for motorsports. This sparked his passion for motorsports. He began racing go-karts at the age of four in Limburg, Belgium and won his first race at the age of seven. Over the next few years, he achieved remarkable success, winning national and European championships in several karting categories.
Teen Life
At 16, he began competing in European Formula Three, which marked a significant step up for Max as it involved open-wheel racing. Throughout his teenage years, his father was “strict and uncompromising because he believed that this type of upbringing was necessary for Verstappen to reach the top of his sport” (Payne 4). By the time he turned 17, he made history as the youngest driver ever to compete in a Formula 1 race. He drove for Scuderia Toro Rosso at the Australian Grand Prix, although his race ended after 32 laps due to engine failure. He finished the season in 12th place in the driver’s championship, with his best race result being a fourth-place finish.
Working with Red Bull
During the 2017 season, he faced a challenging start, being involved in three first-lap collisions that not only affected his momentum but also raised concerns about his aggressive driving style. Despite these setbacks, he demonstrated remarkable resilience and skill, clinching victories, one in Malaysia and another in Mexico. These wins were significant highlights in his season, showcasing his ability to overcome adversity and compete at a high level. By the end of the season, he managed to secure a commendable sixth place in the drivers’ championship, Transitioning into the 2018 season, expectations were high, but the year began with controversy as he drew a penalty for his aggressive driving tactics. Heavy criticism followed from not only rival drivers but also his team.
This can show all the great feats in his racing career. He had many losses, but Max always learned how to overcome his hardships. Max is the best or one of the best drivers for this reason and because of his incredible skill. Max’s racing skill is also one of his strengths because of the way he drives aggressively with class. Max’s diving style lets him take over another driver easily and confidently.
In conclusion, Max Verstappen is one of the best Formula One Drivers because of his excellent racing strategies and refined skills. Throughout his career, Max has maintained a great mentality. He has shown his amazing racing skills over these past 5 years by winning several races. Over 4 years, he won 110 races of those being circuit and half being grand prix. This shows his amazing skill in Formula One.
