Because of distance learning, keeping up with the newest trends became a little harder than before. Fashion, food, TV shows, and music, everything has changed in these last 18 months.  Now that we are starting to get back to normal, here’s a look at the newest trends. 

There was a lot that we missed this summer while distance learning. Fashion, food and even TV shows. Welcome back to school Rio! Let’s take a look at the biggest trends of the year.

Fashion

Let’s take a look at the biggest trends of the year. To start off Fashion.  Skater is a style mostly worn by, you guessed it, skaters. It contains a variety of jeans, excluding skinny jeans. For tops, basic or graphic t-shirts, and shoes such as Nike, Vans, Converse. Basically any shoe that can handle being rubbed on sandpaper all day can work.

Next we have Old School. With  this style, you would wear denim jeans, in which the color can be blue or black, and a rock band t-shirt of some kind.  Most times that you ask them about any songs from the band they are wearing, they probably won’t know. 

Casual is a very general style. Unlike most styles, instead of looks, the main goal when wearing clothes of this style should be comfort. Clothes like sweatpants and regular t-shirts are considered casual. These are just a few of the many styles that are trending today. It’s astonishing how many different fashion types there are and how much they differ from each other!

Now almost everyone’s favorite, TV shows! This summer, there were several new movies and shows that came out and had a high viewing. One TV show that has recently come out with a second season is Obx. Obx has been trending lately because of their new paradise season.  After an interview, we learned that another trending show is OuterBanks.  A TV genre that has gained a big following is Anime. Anime has been trending for a while now. Some popular animes right now are,  K-ON, Little Witch Academia,  Violet Evergarden, Toilet Bound Hanako Kun, Boruto, Totoro, Ponyo, My Hero Academia, 

Last but not least, food. If you have any social media, then you know that there are TONS of delicious foods that have been trending lately. For example, the frozen honey trend. All you have to do to try this trend is fill a bottle with honey, then freeze it overnight. When you take it out of the freezer, you’ll have a tasty snack! Have you also ever heard of the feta pasta trend? First, you’ll have to place cherry tomatoes and shell pasta at the bottom of an oven-safe pan. Then, put a block of feta cheese on top, and drizzle it with oil. Lastly, place the pan in the oven, and bake it for a few minutes. After that, all you have to do is mix the pasta with tomatoes and feta cheese to enjoy a delicious meal! 

To conclude, these are the current trends. Trends are something that will always be changing as long as social media exists and is popular. There are so many trends out there which are waiting to be discovered!
