By now, many people probably heard about Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, which was a concert that combined all of her studio albums into one three and a half hour show. The tour started on March 17th, 2023, and ended just recently on December 8th, 2024. This show was absolutely groundbreaking and will be remembered long after this “era”.
10.1 million people attended at least one of the 149 shows that there were, for some, multiple times. In total the box office made 2.077 billion dollars from the tour, which is a lot of money! The Eras Tour went to 51 cities across 21 different countries, which gave so many people a chance to go.
In October 2023, Swift released her Eras Tour movie, so people who didn’t get to go were able to see it, in some way. This was something that many Swifties were ecstatic to watch, and in box office sales, it made 261.7 million dollars. Along with the movie, there were reusable Taylor Swift drink cups and popcorn buckets, which many Swifties kept after. The movie is currently available on Disney+.
The Eras Tour experience included costumes and friendship bracelets. Most people who attended wore an outfit inspired by an album, song, or something Taylor Swift wore. Friendship bracelets were something that was special about The Eras Tour and the movie. Most of them had the title and decorations of an album or song, and some others had various words and designs. Swift stated that every bracelet traded has the potential to become a new friend.
When Taylor Swift released her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, it was added to The Eras Tour setlist with new costumes and a new set. Although, with the addition of The Tortured Poets Department, some songs had to be cut. Those songs were: The Archer (Lover), Long Live (Speak Now), The 1 (Folklore), Tis’ The Damn Season (Evermore), Tolerate It (Evermore), and The Last Great American Dynasty (Folklore). Some fans were upset about this change, but the majority were excited about the addition of The Tortured Poets Department.
On November 29th, 2024, Taylor Swift released her Target exclusive Eras Tour book, which retailed at $39.99 and included many unseen pictures from the tour and behind the scenes. Many Swifties rushed to Target to get their hands on it before it could sell out.
So many people got to experience the joy of The Eras Tour and Eras Tour movie, and left with so many wonderful memories that they will never forget. It may be the end of an era, but it’s certainly the start of an age!
