In the NBA there are many different aspects of being great. Aspects like shooting can be most difficult for people of all ages playing the game of basketball.
The greatest shooter, Stephen Curry, or also known as Wardell Stephen Curry II, was born in Akron Ohio on March 14,1988. As a little boy he was destined to follow in his fathers footsteps as a former NBA player for teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Charlotte Hornets. He started playing basketball when he was 6 years old as a part of a rec. league already off a strong base, learning all basics and components of basketball.
Later in his newly started career, as a teenager, Steph had a huge turning point of career at Charlotte Christian High School in North Carolina. Here he became the 16th ranked player in his state, making him ranked number 60 of all point guards in the nation, and 300 overall. At six feet and two inches tall, Curry’s size became a disadvantage and struggle the same as who people consider the “Greatest Of All Time”, Michael Jordan (6 feet, 6 inches), Curry went through harder times due to his height, making it harder to reach his dream. This point of growth gave Curry more of a push to prove and show off his skills as an undersized point guard.
Later in his hard working career he was getting offers from places like William and Mary Virginia Tech, VCU, and High Point, giving Stephen a huge opportunity to be better noticed, but his decision shocked many. Curry committed to Davidson College, a local college closer to his home, immediately putting his talent on the table showcasing his shooting, dribbling, and driving skills, scoring a tough 32 points in his second game with the team. This gave him more playtime which let him improve and continue to work on his play style. This made many other schools attempt to reach out for him, giving lots of paths in his dream career.
Stephen Curry was the 7th pick in the 2009 class and became part of the team to where he still remains, the Golden State Warriors. At first many still doubted him in his first moments in the NBA. He later slowly caught the attention of people all around the country due to his amazing, and breathtaking shooting ability, creating a huge and iconic moment in NBA history in 2016. Against the Oklahoma Thunder in a tight tie game with only a few seconds left in the fourth quarter, Curry drains it from deep doing his famous “shimmy” celebration and the announcer yelling bang after such a shocking and clutch three.
Now in the present day, after playing for 15 years he is now the most known and world renowned NBA shooter. The accomplishments Stephen Curry has received are being a 2 time MVP, 4 time NBA Champion, was a one time Gold Medalist in the Olympics, a one time NBA Finals MVP, Nine time All-Star, having the first-ever Magic Johnson Western Conference Final MVP, and so much more. Stephen Curry also holds the record of having the most threes in NBA History, having an estimate of about 3774 three pointers. Playing alongside other present day stars like Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, and others.
