There are many new updates and features, such as the camera button, the action button, iOS 18, and Apple Intelligence. But do these features make it better than previous iPhone models?
The iPhone 16, as mentioned, introduces a new camera button located just below the power button. This button opens the camera when clicked, and it also zooms in and out depending on whether the user is scrolling up or down on the button. When clicked again, the camera button takes a picture without touching the screen. The new cameras are the best Apple has ever used on an iPhone, with 48-MP Ultra Wide sensors offering better photo quality and zoom capabilities. In comparison, the iPhone 15 has 24 MP sensors, while the iPhone 14 and older models only have 12 MP sensors, resulting in lower quality and zoom performance. Additionally, when taking a video in the camera app, it is now possible to pause and restart the video without having to start a new recording, which was not possible on older models.
Similar to the iPhone 15, the iPhone 16 features an action button located just above the volume buttons, where the silent mode switch used to be. While the action button still functions as the silent mode switch, it can now be customized in the Settings app to perform other actions, such as opening an app or starting a voice recording.
The iPhone 16’s new iOS 18 update brings many exciting features. One notable addition is the ability to freely arrange apps anywhere on the screen, allowing them to be placed in any orientation, such as in the center or along the sides. It also includes a new feature that lets users lock apps with a password, ensuring that only authorized users can access them. Additionally, iOS 18 introduces updated app icons for the home screen and new background options.
Apple Intelligence is one of the many new features on the iPhone 16. One of its highlights is an updated version of Siri, which now includes a glowing animation around the phone’s screen when in use. Instead of speaking to Siri, users can now type their requests or commands. Apple Intelligence also includes a built-in writing tool powered by AI to assist with writing tasks. Additionally, there are AI-driven picture generators that can create images based on a simple sketch or a typed description. However, this feature is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and later models, as well as on newer iPads (iPad Air, iPad Pro), and Mac computers (MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac Mini, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro).
Overall, the iPhone 16’s new updates are innovative, with many exciting features that set it apart from previous models.
