Ever since the olden days people have had a much rough and harder way of communicating, researching, and writing. Before 1436 there was nothing to write books with besides writing them with a pen and paper. When researching people had to go get books and start reading for details and information. Meanwhile, to communicate, some people had to ride horses or send letters to which other people had to travel via horses or ships just to communicate.
In 1436, Johaness Gutenberg developed a machine that changed all of these problems, the printing press. This machine changed everything, the machine took a huge stamp and pressed down ink onto a paper, thus doing this multiple times created books, not just one but multiple. His invention changed everything from newspapers, books, documents, and many more. In 1843, the first ever computer was created and produced by Charles Babbage.
However, it was only able to perform mathematical equations. About 147 years later, the first computer with a browser came out and revolutionized earth. It did most of the things that the printing press did but better because rather than using paper to write articles or display images, this technology made it out of light and displayed it on the screen. The first ever web browser’s name was www(world wide web), and with this browser and just typing a question, someone would be able to find any information they needed. Meaning they would be able to research, communicate, and share information. With the first ever browser being able to search for anything, anywhere —A person wouldn’t have to go to a library and look through books to research, or go to a telephone booth to communicate, instead they could type emails, which later became a thing in 1971.
So, with all this information how did computers change the world? Computers changed the world because they had browsers that can research many things like simple questions of “what ice cream flavor is the best of all?” Or the way up to find out how space works, calculus, and even rocket science. Leading to today’s computers being able to do anything someone needs to do digitally — it can search anything up using websites or use artificial intelligence which searches the web in less than two seconds, it will tell someone what they need. Communication, these days someone can use computers to video call where they can hear your audio and see another person’s face. Last but not least when sharing media, messages, videos, all someone has to do is press 4 buttons or less.
