Social media can be the leading source of depression and other problems. It can influence how we interact with others daily. Addiction can also play a part in these affects.Social media can have a big impact on your mental health.\

To start off, the need to constantly scroll can play a big part in the addiction factor of this. Another way social media can contribute is through these “perfect” pictures and videos. This could make people feel bad that they didn’t meet the standards of the media. This can also push people to be more consumed in social media and not focus on their real life. People want to have as many ‘fun times’ on social media as people want more followers and likes. This can have negative effects on people and can cause people to lose touch with reality and their families.

There is also the possibility of being threatened by people or places. People could send death threats or just overall destroy your well being with insults and other harmful things. People could also blackmail you to do things like take your money or drop your reputation. In a similar way you could get scammed which the loss of money can put them in a state of depression.

In conclusion, social media can be a time consuming trap, as people can keep scrolling for hours and can become addicted to social media. However social media can be a good use of time and can connect people to each other as long as it’s used responsibly.
