For the 8th graders grad night, we went to Universal studios to celebrate. We went right after school on May 16th and we went there from about 3:30 to about 11:15. Most of all the 8th graders went and we filled up 10 buses. Every bus had a chaperone and some chaperones that went on the trip were Ms. Bretthauer, Mrs. Mandel, Ms. Van Dyke, Ms. Granbois, and many more teachers.
When the kids arrived, they were allowed to go anywhere in the park and go on any rides they wanted! Some rides there are The Mummy, Jurassic Park, Mario Kart, The Simpsons Ride, and many more. Also, Universal offers a studio tour which gives a tour of all the sets and where movies were filmed and gives us visuals of movies such as the “Jaws” shark.
To be able to go on this trip, the cost was $115 for a ticket and you had to pay at the front office to rsvp. The sooner a student would turn in the money, the quicker you’d be put on a bus. Turning it in earlier got an advantage because usually the people who turned it in quicker got on the buses who left from Universal studios first after the call time. So if a student is on Bus 10, they most likely will leave 20-30 minutes after Bus 1 or Bus 2.
They were many places to buy merch and get food if you were hungry. Places like Krusty’s Burgers offered burgers, fries, and drinks in the Simpsons area. They also had a starbucks on the main level and the lower lot. They also sell massive donuts in Simpsons land, and butterbeer in Harry Potter land. They are many places to receive merch. For example, in Harry Potter world they sell wands that work in some areas over there, they have big unicorn shoes from the shops in the downtown shops.
The Universal Trip is enjoyed by 8th graders every year, and everyone has said they enjoyed this trip. The trip was a success, everyone getting their and coming back safely. This trip will be available for 7th graders again next school year, and hopefully for more years to come.
