The 2024 Riverhawk Walk is a massive fundraiser for the P.E. classes that only takes place once a school year. On the day of it, students run for 50 minutes around the Rio 25 track or on the school grounds but it depends on the weatherAfter the run, students are offered bagels, oranges, and water.

P.E. teacher Mr. Burleson says the purpose of the Riverhawk walk is to raise money so they can replace broken or lost equipment. Refreshments, music, and snacks will be available at the Riverhawk Walk. He also said you must go to a table to receive a punch card to record your completed laps. The last thing we learned is that the event will occur on March 28th and 29th, depending on the day you have P.E.

Hence, the P.E. teachers are trying to raise money to help with the school’s P.E. events. Also, if more is donated, the school can use the money for more things, such as replacing old equipment that Rio needs to continue things like lunchtime intramurals, which many students enjoy. Be sure to remember to enjoy the snacks, refreshments, and music when you are there, even though running for a long period can be tiring!
