Here at Rio Norte we have many interesting and unique students. One of those students is 8th grader Kyle Pinto. Kyle was born in Taiwan, but moved to the United States at the age of one.
Taiwan, an island located in the pacific ocean off the coast of China, is a dense country with busy cities and quiet nature parks. Taipei city is the capital of Taiwan and is very popular with tourists. It is the largest and most populous city in all of Taiwan. Alternatively, Taroko National Park is a beautiful and quiet place that is also a big hit with travelers. Typical Taiwanese cuisine consists of rice, corn, tea, pork, poultry, beef, fish, and other fruits and vegetables. Taiwan is home to many indigenous and rare animals such as the Formosan black bear and Swinhoe’s pheasant. These creatures are native to Taiwan and do not live anywhere else.
At Rio, Kyle enjoys playing basketball with his friends. Basketball is his favorite sport to play and his favorite NBA team is the Golden State Warriors. His favorite subject in school is math and his favorite teacher is Mrs. Rippe. At home, some of Kyle’s hobbies include playing outside, reading, watching TV, and playing cricket. Kyle also enjoys trying new foods and playing new sports. His favorite food is any type of Sushi. Kyle has an eight-year-old cat named Cooper. Cooper is a fat, moody, and lazy cat that likes being alone.
Kyle is an example of how interesting people can be here at Rio Norte. We should look at Kyle’s story as a reminder about how everyone has their own cool story.
