Ms. Schneider is one of the 8th-grade English teachers for team Cimarron. She’s been teaching for 29 years but teaching English for about 20 years in total. One of her favorite things to do is powerlifting and deadlifting and this is one her favorite activities to do after teaching every day. A fun fact about her deadlifting is that she has lifted over 300 pounds! Also, for legs, she’s reached over 235 pounds! Her goal is to get better at everything in the future.
Her two hobbies are powerlifting but also doing theater/teaching. She has lifted over 300 pounds! Also, for legs, she’s reached over 125 pounds! Her goal is 150 for the future. Also, her major in college was theater where she attended Cal State Northridge. A cool fact about Ms. Schneider is that ever since she was little she’s liked the color purple, green and pink. Overall, purple is her favorite and you can see it all over the classroom including her podium in the front.
She grew up in the San Fernando Valley and eventually moved her way over here and started teaching at Rio Norte along with other schools around the area. If she could travel anywhere she would love to travel to Amsterdam just because it’s a dream of hers and she thinks it’s beautiful. She’s taught 7th-12th grade but always loved 8th-grade English most of all.
According to 8th grader Chloe Carr, “I have Ms. Schneider this year and she is one of my favorite teachers and I love reading The Outsiders in her class.”
Her favorite thing about English is the ability to lose yourself in a book. One of her favorite things about teaching is to build relationships with her students and she thinks the most important thing in a classroom is to have a safe and bully-free zone where people can be themselves.
