Encanto Awards

Encanto, an extremely loved Disney movie has been out for almost 5 months, and the movie has already gained a massive following. In addition to gaining a variety of fans, Encanto has also been nominated for about 85 awards and has already won a grand total of 28 awards.
Billboard Hot 100
The Billboard Hot 100 is a chart with the current 100 most popular songs in the world. Encanto currently has 6 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with All Of You at number 77, Waiting On A Miracle at number 60, What Else Can I Do at number 38, The Family Madrigal at number 26, Surface Pressure at number 13, and of course We Don’t Talk About Bruno at number 1. (As of 3/1/22) We Don’t Talk About Bruno has been on the chart for 10 weeks and has spent 5 of those 10 weeks at number 1, but was recently surpassed by Heat Waves by Glass Animals on March 6, 2022. This is a huge accomplishment since it has recently passed All For Love from the Three Musketeers for an animated Disney song to be at number 1 for over… For reference, 6 of the 8 songs from the Encanto soundtrack are currently on the Billboard 100. In addition, the Billboard 200 includes the 200 most popular albums in the world. As of March 1, 2022 the Encanto soundtrack is still at number one, having been at number 1 for 7 weeks and being on the chart for 13 weeks in total.
Academy Awards (Oscars)
Encanto has been nominated for 3 different Academy Awards. The Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars, are awarded to those with artistic and technical excellence in the film industry. Dos Oruguitas has been nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars. Meanwhile, Encanto has also been nominated for Best Animated Feature. Finally, Encanto has been nominated for Best Original Score (Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures). The Oscars are going to be held at the Dolby Theatre Hollywood on March 27, 2022.
RIAA Awards
The RIAA Awards, also known as the RIAA certification, “is the industry’s premier program for celebrating artistic achievement in the marketplace. The awards are earned by artists who have met rigorous standards, and recipients join the ranks of the most iconic recording artists.” (What We Do – RIAA) Albums and songs can receive: Gold® (500,000 units), Platinum® (1,000,000 units) Multi-Platinum® (2,000,000 units), and Diamond® (10,000,000 units and counting). The Encanto soundtrack and The Family Madrigal has been awarded RIAA Gold, while We Don’t Talk About Bruno has been Awarded Platinum.
YouTube Views
One of the most popular ways to watch or listen to the Encanto Soundtrack is on YouTube. Since the music video release date December 28, 2021, the We Don’t Talk About Bruno music video has received about 290 million views on YouTube while the Surface Pressure music video has about 170 million views. Compared to other songs that were released that same month such as West Side Story, the songs in the Encanto soundtrack have more than 35 million times the amount of views.
Miscellaneous Awards
In addition to the big awards that Encanto has been nominated for, the movie has also been nominated for many smaller or not as known awards. Some of these awards include the Alliance of Women Film Journalists awards, the BAFTA Awards, the Annie Awards, the GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics awards, and many more. In conclusion, Encanto is extremely loved by fans and has won many different awards. 7th grader Aliya Van Der Hoeven has said that she likes the movie since “… even without powers you can still accomplish great things in life.” Encanto is a movie that is loved by many, and we can’t wait to see it win more awards.
