“In compliance with LA County mandates, effective October 7, all guests ages 12 and older will be required to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test ( PCR or antigen) within 72 hours before visiting the park on certain designated days. Additionally, on such days all guests two and older will be required to wear a face mask at all times, including outdoors. On non-designated days, proof of vaccination or negative test will not be required, but all guests two and older will continue to be required to wear a face mask while indoors, regardless of vaccination status,” Says Six flags Magic Mountain in one of their recent park updates. Lots of people disagree with this rule but to go, you need to follow the rules.

All Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays they are enforcing vaccine card checks, negative tests within 72 hours, and masks out and indoors. 8th grader Artin Fashandi thinks “They did not enforce it very strongly.” Artin showed his negative test and they only looked for the part that says negative, this makes him believe that you can easily get away with a fake test.  8th grader Evey Galindo says, “ They didn’t enforce it that much, they just asked if you were vaccinated or had a negative test. If not, they give you places to go to get a test.” They both saw lots of people without masks inside or out.

Six Flags isn’t the only place enforcing this requirement. Other facilities have been informing their guests that to attend any of their events you need to present a negative covid test or show proof of vaccination. This might leave some facilities to lose money due to people not wanting to get the vaccine or don’t have the time or the patients to get a covid test. Six flags has a policy saying they are unable to start the ride unless all guests have a mask on. We interviewed one Six Flags worker and she reported, “They have to ask them to put their mask up on the intercom and if they don’t they ask privately 3 times and then they ask the person to leave the ride and if they don’t then they can call security. Also there has not been a decrease in visitors since the new rules.”
